A new video game celebrating the life and work of the late Avicii has been released this week.
First announced publicly in October, the game, titled AVICII Invector, sees players going on an intergalactic journey, trying to hit notes as they race through various landscapes.
Avicii Video Game
The game has both solo and multiplayer options and players are given the choice of three difficulty levels.
The game features 25 of Avicci’s tracks which include the popular hits ‘Without You’, ‘Levels’ and ‘Lay Me Down’.
Avicii INVECTOR is available digitally on XBOX One and PC, as well as with a re-launch for Playstation 4, and in physical formats.
There is also a great campaign behind it, where 25% of the profits from the sale of each game will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation. The foundation is the charity set up in his honour by his parents which aims to support those working within mental health and suicide prevention.
Last week, a one-off tribute concert in aid of mental health awareness took place in Stockholm which was broadcasted all over the world. The concert was organised by the Tim Bergling Foundation and 19 of Avicii’s collaborators teamed up with a 30-piece band for the performance.
Following this event, the tribute concert version of Avicii’s ‘Fades Away’ was officially released this week.
A Tragic Loss
Avicii was found dead in April last year, when his publicist confirmed the sad news, saying: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.”
Following the tragic news of Avicii’s death, people paid homage to the star in various ways. Some of his songs also topped the Spotify charts with 10 of them entering the global top 50.
