Here we are at RedFest 2020. Just when we thought it could not get any better, this 7th installment of the insanely successful music festival is now touted as the biggest & most electrifying RedFest yet, especially with the size, pyrotechnics, lasers and line-up!
Like the last few years, the weekend saw over 12,000 teens/tweens (and chaperones?) braving the chill & have a ball in this carnival-like party, with game-stalls, food-trucks and plenty of security (kudos!).
Day 1 kicked off with DJ Martin Avari followed by a tight set by the scintillating Raye. Special mention for Koyah who won the DJ Drop competition and took to the decks like an absolute pro! Yungen came in after as special guest almost warming up for Young Thug.
Soon after was Bastille who owned the crowd and also became part of it (passed right by me!), which was a little before Martin Garrix came on and set the stage on fire (I mean those pyrotechnics and that massive light installment? Wow!)
Day 2 opened with the super talented School Stars, followed by the rousing Cheat Codes. Becky Hill mellowed things down a notch as did the silky vocals of Noah Cyrus right after. This thankfully gave us a breather before rapper Machine Gun Kelly took to the stage, lit it up for STORMZY who came in right after and brought the proverbial roof down!
Dubai’s local veteran Dany Neville brought the festival to a close, sending us home on a high to remember.
