In a short tweet, Minaj said she was leaving the industry to focus on her partner, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, as well as her family.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, [X] in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE,” she tweeted.
The pop star recently appeared on a number of big singles, including “Hot Girl Summer” and Pop Smoke’s “Welcome to the Party” remix.
Minaj’s revelation means that her appearance in Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” video could very well be her final music video appearance.
An Eventful Year For Nicki Minaj
Minaj also announced that she was pulling out a show in Saudi Arabia back in July to show support women’s rights, gay rights and freedom of expression.
The star also canceled her appearance at the BET Experience Concert.
