Dar Disku Making Waves
Dar Disku, gained popularity quite quickly after securing a guest mix and interview for BBC radio, together with headline DJ slots in Dublin, London, Mumbai and Bahrain in just 6 months!
The name Dar Disku is quite fitting – as it means ‘home of the disco’ in Arabic.
Dar Disku Releases New Record
Their first release was out worldwide on January 21 this year. It’s a heavy-hitting two-track EP which has already picked up some amazing support.
The lead track finds Dar Disku reworks a traditional Syrian pop song ‘Bas Asma3 Mini’ into a bass-heavy, acid-tinged rework.
The Disku duo get to grips with 60s Indonesian group Orkes Kelana Ria for the other tune, creating ‘Ya Mahmud,’ – where there’s mixing 80s New Order-style drums with a sleazy, dubbed out disco feel.
The pair is currently on tour in Europe.
