Pop star Justin Bieber has opened up about his previous drug abuse.
Bieber refers to the abuse as an escape from the pressures of fame and admits that he only decided to stop when he felt he was dying.
“Scary Crazy” Drug Abuse
25-year-old Bieber shared on social media over the past year or so about his struggles with depression, drugs and fame.
However, he’s taken it a step further and went into detail on camera for the first time in a documentary series about his life.
Bieber says he first started using marijuana at the age of 13, which is the age at which he rose to fame in Canada.
The pop sensation then moved onto other substances such as ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, pills and alcohol.
Justin Bieber Opens Up In Documentary
Bieber says in the latest episode of his YouTube documentary, “Justin Bieber: Seasons,” :
“People don’t know how serious it got. It was legit crazy scary. I was waking up in the morning and the first thing I was doing was popping pills and smoking a blunt and starting my day.
It just got scary,” Bieber said.
Bieber noted that just like other young people, he was experimenting and using drugs to escape. “But my experience was in front of cameras and I had a different level of exposure. I had a lot of money and a lot of things.”
The documentary takes a look at the making of the singer’s first album in four years. It also gives us glimpses of his private life with his model wife, Hailey Baldwin as well as other family members.
