Gui Borrato And Victor Ruiz At Code Club, July 19th
It would be hard to look past the genius of Gui Boratto, if you had to choose just one driving force behind the rise of Brazilian electronic music in the past 15 years.
Boratto is literally at the heart of the electronic scene in Brazil and has an influence which reaches across the globe.
Brazilian born Boratto began working as a producer, audio
engineer and multi-
instrumentalist in the early 90s with credits on countless releases for major and
independent record labels.
He has worked alongside big industry names, including Garth Brooks, Steel Pulse, Desiree and Manu Chao to name just a few.
With a very successful career behind the scenes, Boratto also began dedicating himself to producing his own music in the studio.
Notable releases of his own include Plastic City, Audiomatique and Circle.
His first full-length album, the highly acclaimed ‘Chromophobia’, was released in 2007 through the Cologne-based German label Kompakt.
With 5 full-length albums to his name and an innovative live show that sees him tour iconic venues across the globe each year, Boratto has determinedly established himself as Brazil’s biggest electronic music export.
To Victor Ruiz, music is the strongest form of art.
The Brazilian born Berlin-based Victor has an extremely unique sound. He has a Rock ’n’ Roll background, and for some years now, he has been known for his high-end quality of production and as a result, it has made him an established artist in the Techno scene.
His “unofficial edits” of classic songs are like no other and pays tribute to musical influences.. “Breathe” from The Prodigy, “Children” from Robert Miles, “Everything Counts” from Depeche Mode (together with Thomas Schumacher) and his latest edit of “Teardrop” from Massive Attack.
Some highlights of his career include remixing officially big names of the electronic scene – the likes of MOBY, Dubfire and Stephan Bodzin to name a few. He has also reached #1 many times on Beatport with his distinctive sound.
Over the years, he has toured all around the world, from festivals to clubs and he just can’t get enough! Victor injects pure love on every single piece of work he does.
