Residents who are wanting to get their hands on a liquor license in Dubai are going to be happy about this one!
Requirements to obtain a license have been significantly relaxed!
Prior to recent changes, you needed the following to obtain a license:
– an NOC letter from your employer, father or husband,
– tenancy contract
– salary certificate showing earnings of over Dhs3000 per month.
Gone are those days!
New Requirements To Obtain A Liquor License
Now, all you need to submit your application is your Emirates ID copy, passport copy, passport photo and a visa copy.
MMI, as well as African and Eastern, have made the process a lot easier to help more people comply with the law and to ensure that expats are fully aware of the rules concerning alcohol in the UAE.
It is in fact a legal requirement for anyone who wishes to drink, transport or store alcohol at home in Dubai is to have a liquor license.
Residents also need to have a liquor license in order to purchase and consume alcohol in Dubai.
You need to be over 21 years of age and a non-muslim.
If your application is approved, you can collect the license from your chosen MMI or African and Eastern store and you will even receive vouchers of up DHS 1,500 in discounts from retailers as well as food and beverage outlets.
You’ll even get a Dhs100 voucher to spend in-store should you refer a friend!
