Question: What do a new product line from Shure, former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and the hit HBO show ‘Game of Thrones’ have in common?

Answer: They are all featured in this edition of “Boxtalk with The Boxtones”

Our favorite microphone makers Shure have revealed a pretty innovative piece of equipment for all types of vocal performers out there in the theatre, broadcasting, film and television industries! This premium subminiature omnidirectional lavalier and headset microphone line is designed to give both the best natural audio at high and low frequencies as well as incredible vocal clarity and warmth!

In the case of our lead singers Gary and Louise, they may want to drop their KSM 8 hand held mics just so they can feel like Madonna (that TH53 headset looks tempting), but the TwinPlex is ideal for other sensitive audio applications and I’m sure we can figure out a particular project to use it on! Soon we will all be privileged to hear the voice stylings of the former ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Knight Rider’ star David Hasselhoff, as he dives into heavy metal for his 14th studio album! Yes you read that right – a heavy metal album from this actor turned musician!

Personally we’re not shocked at this music news, as he told the media a few years back he’s a big fan of legendary metal acts Metallica and Iron Maiden, so keep an eye out for a release date sometime in late 2019/early 2020! Horns up for #TheHoff! \m/

After nearly 2 years of patiently waiting for the final season of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, the hit TV show is back on the air each week, and just like the other one billion that watch it, we have cleared our schedules as to not miss a single episode!

But did you know that The Lumineers (they’re the band that wrote that folky hit “Ho Hey”) have released a #GOT inspired tune called “Nightshade”? We’re digging this haunting piano and vocal tune – and it’s only one of many tracks that will be featured on “For the Throne” – an upcoming album featuring songs inspired by the epic show (out on April 26th). We’ll also get to hear singles from Muse’s Matt Bellamy, Mumford & Sons and X Ambassadors – how cool is that?
