Africa Fest UAE is coming to Dubai! The festival, that originally launched in Abu Dhabi, is the UAE’s biggest African festival and now following a partnership with KIZA Dubai, is set to take place in Dubai this Friday, October 26th. Tickets available now.

The Music

Bringing local and international African talents together, the festival will introduce a few artists for the first time to the middle east including:

BM

Congolese artist BM, known for his popular hit “Rosalina”.

Freshlyground

Iconic South African Afro-pop band Freshlyground.

Dubafrique

African drumming troupe Dubafrique.

This line-up of international artists will be supported by the UAE’s finest African DJs, including DJ Amzin, DJ Charl Chaka, DJ Mneddy, DJ FantaFire, and many more.

The Fashion

Dubai-based Ashante Design will present two exclusive collections on the catwalk by designers Marie Hosatte and Thaimi O’Reilly, followed by African emerging designers Ndo Magumise, Hind Tahiri, Eliane Sarr and Dennis Osadebe. Designers will be showcasing African designs inspired by the rich heritage and culture of Africa itself.

The Culture

The festival is suitably themed to celebrate two inspiring legends: Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, and Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa and Nobel Peace Prize winner.

The festival has teamed up with the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding to enable visitors to have a chance to learn and experience UAE culture, whilst also been able to witness a live speed-paint session by Zambian-born artist Victor Sitali, who will paint artworks featuring the two legendary figures as visitors watch.

The Food

Set to showcase spectacular cuisines by African restaurants, the festival will give guests the opportunity to tantalize their taste buds through a journey of dishes by Kiza Restaurant, Catfish, African Kitchen, The Chop Shop, Jebal Al Atlas Moroccan Restaurant and Calypso Grill.

The Kids

To keep the children happy there will be face painting, African drumming lessons, paint-on-canvas lessons and a huge bouncy-castle, plus several other exciting activities to keep them entertained throughout the day.
