American 'dubstep' superstar producer Shrillex dismissed his internet critics as 'crickets' this week in an interview with British music magazine Mixmag.
"You can hear them - but when you walk by they shut up!" he snarled, when quizzed about the growing number of jealous internet trolls uploading 'I Hate Skrillex' sites. "No one in the scene has a problem with me, I come to London and hang out with guys like Skream and Benga. It's just bulls***," he complained.
Whether Skrillex is too concerned looks unlikely judging by a recent interview with London dubstep champion Joe Muggs in which Muggs hailed him as the 'demented flipside of David Guetta bringing Euro house into the mainstream.'
"I never really even hear these (haters') views, mainly because I don't have much time for the internet," said Skrillex, "I go to shows and all I see is love." He also received unqualified support from influential new metal rock gods Korn on MTV recently after collaborating on the veteran band's new full length dubstep flavoured album 'The Path of Totality'. "Dubstep is the future; it's the new hip-hop, it's the new metal, it's the new everything," Korn mainman Jonathan Davis told MTV. "Metal shows are all hate, like, 'I'm going to fuck you up in the mosh pit.' Electronic shows are all peace and love. They rage harder than metal fans," he claimed. |
