After nearly 20 years and a collection of 20,000 vinyls, Desyn Masiello has crafted his skill as a DJ. Not satisfied with just touring the world he is always looking for new ways to spread the magic in the music he has spent years perfecting. After a very successful solo career, not to mention his time with the SOS collective, he is now involved in a new project called Faciendo.
Faciendo are a tribe of "musical shamans" and "mix scientists", working together to inspire, educate and spread love through the air waves. The tribe members along with Desyn include Tom Morgan (UK), Rowdent (UK), Dory (USA), Add2Basket (Hungary), and balErik (Norway). A lot of thought has gone into every aspect of the new project, including the logo, It's an alternative version of the native American fertility deity Kokopelli, who is also a trickster god that represents the spirit of music. Usually he is playing the flute but they gave him a vinyl record instead! This past July Faciendo launched their their bi-weekly radio show on a selection of the best electronic radio shows around the world. The mixes are a collaborative effort where all the team members pool tracks together to make one solid mix. The format of the show may alternate each episode: from the club-oriented, where you'll hear house and techno which they're renowned for, to the more eclectic, airing the freshest in downtempo, disco, dustep, and drum n bass. The show crosses a wide range of electronic music, but each with the same goal: to represent the true "art" of a DJ mix, where all the pieces of the mix fit together in absolute harmony, and a truly new experience is created from the union of the tracks. To hear what this is all about head over to the first ever Faciendo party for iLL Communications at Trilogy in the Electric Studio Nov. 11 with balErik and Desyn Masiello playing all night long; they will start at 10pm so get there early for the real Faciendo experience!
