UK tabloid The Daily Mail was the subject of an April Fool's hoax recently when it printed a spoof story from Saga Holidays confirming that it was building an over-50s Ibiza holiday resort with Pete Tong (pictured) and Paul Oakenfold on board as consultants.

According to the press release, Saga had bought 500 acres of land on which they'd build 'chill-out venues, a state of the art nightclub and cafes to create a complete clubbers village atmosphere' that's accessible only to the over 50s. A spokesman said: "Danny (Rampling), Pete (Tong) and Paul (Oakenfold) were there at the beginning and are brilliantly placed to advise us on what their audiences will want."

News that veteran DJ Dave Pearce had joined Radio 2 in the UK was revealed to be the truth, and not an April Fool's hoax as many thought. "With nearly all the original heavyweight DJs over 50 now I guess dance music has finally come of age! It's time to bring back some of those great records that we all miss," said the one-time cheesy house DJ.
