Not only one of the bastions of leftfield music in the city, two of the See You Next Friday residents have got into the production business. First up is a huge nu-disco/proto house release from Matt McBriar, AKA Bicep. One half of the team behind the mind-bloggingly big feelmybicep.com blog, they've hit a winning formula in the production stakes with the release of this three track EP. The stand out track is the Retro/Grade remix of Darwin which has been picking up serious airplay in the UK, with support from Craig Richards, Erol Alkan and Disco Bloodbath. Not to be outdone, SYNF's other resident DJ Just Some Kid has recently remixed up-and-coming UK band The Starlings' 'Weight of Gold' to electro effect. Under his Lapelle moniker, he's crafted a seven minute remix that Stuart Price would be proud of. Both tracks are available now from junodownload.com.
