UK DJ Andy Young steps into the Infusion offices this week for a quick spin in the DJ Booth. Better known for his residency and work with London house brand Mimo – which launched at Trilogy Rooftop in November – Andy has a few words of wisdom on dance floor antics and having your Mum in the DJ booth… Read on for all the dirt…
What’s playing on your IPod at the moment? Tom Middleton, Sound of the Cosmos. Simply awesome.
What do you do on your day off? This is Dubai so days off are rare but I do love a water park; so many fun times.
If you could travel through time, where would you go and why? It would have to be a visit back to see the Dinosaurs, not sure how long I would last before I was eaten, but to see them and the world in its natural form would be pretty cool.
What do you love/hate seeing on the dance floor? I love to see people having fun and getting into the groove it, creates a great night and even greater memories. I hate to see attitude; it has no place on the dance floor, just let yourself go and enjoy (if not go home).
Biggest career achievement to date? I have been very lucky to have rocked pretty much all of London’s top clubs but it had to be smashing the main room PACHA with my MiMo partner Chris Jones - it was one of MiMo’s finest hours.
Wanna share a crazy clubbing experience with us? Well, a real crazy moment was at the same night at Pacha; over 3000 people going crazy I was DJ’ing and I had my mum in the DJ Booth next to me, now my mum is no raver but she absolutely loved it!
Which acts would you like to see in Dubai? There are plenty of acts I want to bring to Dubai so I will keep this to myself as this is Dubai and people will pinch your ideas, sad but true.
Thanks for that boothlicious interview Mr. Young. You can catch Andy playing at Mimo at Trilogy Rooftop, or check out www.mimoevents.co.uk for more info.
