And with Patrik Carrera and Ali Ajami et al. around, we know he’s gonna be in good company. But first, a little bit about yourself …

Where are you from? I was born and raised in a little village in Buckinghamshire England, I lived there right up until I moved to Dubai, but to be honest London was my second home in the UK as I was more often there working and getting involved in the music culture. How long have you been in Dubai and how does it compare to home? I have been in Dubai for 3 months now. Well for a start, Dubai has nice weather, which is a rarity in UK! I admire the positive vibe here in Dubai and how fresh the clubbing scene is. Compared to London and how advanced the clubbing culture is, Dubai surprised me as I did not expect the music scene to be so educated and un like London there doesn’t seem to be any aggressive competition in the promotional game. Everyone is at peace so to speak,

What do you do and where do you do it? I am a presenter, previously presenting for Ministry of Sound TV, I am also rising up in my DJ career, with previous gigs all over the world especially the clubbing capital – Ibiza, obviously regular gigs in London and now settling in Dubai with my new residency at Sanctuary (Atlantis, Palm Jumeirah). In addition to this and my passion for music I run my own company called “Lostin Media” where I film and capture the clubbing scene’s best and most memorable moments. “I can use this opportunity to educate the public first hand in the ever changing scene in the land of music What styles of music do you play? Do you like to mix up your genres? My style and most preferred music is Progressive house, to be honest there are so many names of genres, I just pick out what I feel goes and even if it means mixing up the genres, as long as it stays house music, I will play to accommodate the crowd.

So you’re an IBIZA man … what’s your history there? I am for sure an Ibiza man and very honored to play there with the people I do! My history doesn’t quite go as far back as Oaky and the other DJ legends but for what I have been involved in really has set a mark! My residency at the crazy ” Zoo Project” based in an abandoned Zoo, gigs at Eden, Es Paradise and Savanas and many after party sets. Along with all the other regular Ibiza tricks and treats, I would have Lostin Media film the major events, with me interviewing the headliner DJ’s, promoters and most importantly the clubbers of the magical island. What's your earliest memory of hearing music? Do you remember what track it was? And how did it affect your life? As far back as I can remember my Dad would regularly play the Sax and the drums for his band, that’s when music was introduced into my life, the track that comes to mind was Billy Jean by Michael Jackson, this alone I feel affected my life in a big way from my fashion style and dancing to my feel for music.

Are you still a vinyl junkie or CD / laptop man? I will always play Vinyl when I can but the future is advancing and we have to keep up, so I often spin up the CDJs and flip up the laptop. Tell us a little more about Sanctuary! And how do you roll there? I am one of the new resident DJs alongside Tim Kay and being that it is our favorite club in Dubai, we spend a lot of time there not just performing but a general night out. I will be using my presenting and producing experiences to film and capture the Sanctuary’s artists, and events contributing to Podcasts, Sanctuary TV and other means still in the pipeline. Do you have any other favorite venues in Dubai? For the many other venues I have been to in Dubai I would have to say I like, Chi at the Lodge and 360 but obviously my dedications lie with Sanctuary What do you think of Dubai and its people? Dubai is an amazing place, a place that is not feeling the world crisis and its full of opportunities, amazing scenery, great night life and the crime rate is pretty much zero, you can see the effects and benefits of that in many ways. We have a variety of people in Dubai all of which I have encountered to be a happy society. What's next for you? Any big plans for the future? I will to be the first to play on the moon. |
