Tristan Girault

We sat down with the Boogie Box resident about life in Abu Dhabi and of course the records that matter most…

One thing you might not know about me is…

Even though I am French, France is the place where I have lived the least of time.

My favourite ever record is…

Too many to mention, truly depends on the mood I am in. Mobb Deep’s “Survival of the Fittest” ranks as one of those that is never too far from reach.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai’s clubbing scene is…

Thanks to a dedicated few, evolving and maturing. Music is also an attitude, a way of life, a culture, a hub/conduit for creativity and connecting people.

I’m really proud of…

Boogie Box and the way it is growing and evolving as a night, the podcasts and as a record label. Of course super proud of homie Shadi Megallaa, who just opened The Flip Side, a unique independent record store in Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue.

What track could you drop in every set?

“Normandie” by Jonas Bering, 2003 – just hypnotizes me every single time.

I can’t live with out…

My Technics SL 1210’s and my record bags

My biggest DJ achievement to date is…

I would say that having a residency right here in Abu Dhabi just feels great, very humbled by the trust shown in me since I have arrived in the UAE by both Boogie Box and Analog Room.

If you could DJ in any decade which would it be…

Mid -90’s electronic scene, that was just an insane time to be playing records, wild times.

If I could go back to back with any other DJ it would be…

Jan Krueger, a true dj’s dj.

I’m not a politician but…

We should all take a step back more than we normally do and look out for each other, make the best of what you got and try to make things right just around you.
